use really fun buttons and colorful yarns. It is a great way to practice

Children's Neckdown Cardigan
A great classic sweater easy
enough for a beginner. Start at the top and work your way down. You can
put the sweater on the child before taking it off the needles to see if
it is long enough before you commit to bind off.
Written at a gauge of 4 stitches
