Some of these patterns are Neck
Down. This means the pattern is knit starting at the top, increasing
where you need to for the sleeves and the front. This method of
knitting is really nice because you don't have to sew in sleeves
like we used to, and you can better judge the size of your sweater
as you can put the sweater on while it is still on the needles to
see how much longer you need to knit to get the desired length
without calculation measurements. I love these patterns for my
students because they are so easy.
